Bio by Raymond A. Elarmo

I WAS BORN AN ARMY BRAT IN THE PHILLIPINES IN 1948. BORN A US CITIZEN, MY FAMILY MOVED TO JAPAN FOR TWO YEARS AND MOVED BACK TO THE PHILLIPINES FOR TWO MORE YEARS AND THEN MOVED TO THE US. AT THE AGE OF 6. I STUDIED THE ACCORDIAN AT THE AGE OF 9 AND PLAYED IN THE FOURTH OF JULY PARADE IN THE CITY OF SEASIDE IN 1957.

I STARTED A BAND IN SEASIDE CALIFORNIA IN 1963, AT THE AGE OF 15 CALLED THE YOUNG ONES AND PLAYED THE LOCAL SCENE. WE RECORDED TWO SONGS. "SINCERELY" AND "THE YOUNG ONES". WHICH BECAME THE NUMBER ONE HITS ON KMBY IN 1967. WE LATER CHANGED OUR BAND NAME TO "THE IMAGE" AND WENT ON THE ROAD AS UNDER AGED MUSICIANS. WE CHOOSE THE WESTERN USA TOUR AND STARTED OUR TOUR AT THE GREEK THEATER IN LOS ANGELES, TO SANTA BARBARA, KING CITY, SALINAS, MONTEREY, SAN JOSE, SAN FRANCISCO, EUREKA, PORTLAND OREGON, SEATLE WASHINGTON, RENO NEVADA AND LAS VEGAS. AFTER THIS TOUR WE WOULD TAKE TWO WEEKS OFF AND WENT INTO THREE DIFFERENT RECORDING STUDIOS. LAS VEGAS, MONTEREY MAHER STUDIO AND SAN CARLOS CALIFORNIA. WE RECORDED TWO ADDITIONAL SONGS " IS THAT WHY" AND "GOING GOING GONE". THEN WE WENT BACK ON THE ROAD AND DID THIS FOR ALMOST 9 YEARS. DURING THIS TIME WE WROTE MORE SONGS AND NEVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECORD OVER 50 OF THEM.

WE WERE SCHEDULED TO PLAY AT THE INTERNATIONAL MARKET PLACE IN HAWAII AND JUST BEFORE OUR TRIP, WE HAD A MEETING WITH OUR WIFES AND GIRL FRIENDS, (2 OF THE 5 WERE MARRIED) AND THEY GAVE US A CHOICE TO STAY MARRIED OR QUIT THE BAND. SO WE DECIDED TO QUIT. WE WERE ALL IN LOVE WITH OUR WIFES AND GIRL FRIENDS. WE BROKE UP ON APRIL 13, 1973 AND GOT OFF THE ROAD. LIFE ON THE ROAD WAS SO DIFFICULT AND IT HAD A NEGATIVE EFFECT ON ALL OF OUR RELATIONSHIP BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT TIME AWAY.

WE REUNITED FOR SEVERAL YEARS AFTER THAT AND GOT TOGETHER NOW AND AGAIN. WE PLAYED AT THE HOLIDAY INN ON THE BEACH IN MONTEREY CALIFORNIA, WHICH IS NOW CALLED THE MONTEREY BEACH HOTEL, 9 NEW YEARS PARTIES IN A ROW AND IT BECAME THE MOST FAMOUS NEW YEARS PARTY OF THE AREA. WE STARTED PLAYING AT 9:00 PM AND ENDED AT 1:30AM. ALL THE ROOMS AT THE HOTEL WERE FULLY BOOKED AND INVARIABLY, PEOPLE WERE TURNED AWAY.

I AM PRESENTLY INVOLVED WITH "THE MONTEREY PROJECT" WHICH IS A PLAN TO RECORD THE SONGS THAT WE WERE NOT ABLE TO RECORD WHEN WE WERE ON THE ROAD. THE SONGS MAY POTENTIALLY BE OF INTEREST AFTER 38 YEARS. ONE SONG ENTILED "MOTHER NATURE'S PLEA" IS ABOUT MOTHER EARTH PLEADING WITH THE WORLD TO REMEMBER HER AS AN IDENITY. "I GAVE YOU THE SUN, AND THE RAIN, ALL I'M ASKING IS TO PLEASE REMEMBER ME" MOTHER NATURE WOULD SING. OTHER SONGS INCLUDE: "SHY", "MIND WALK", "SOMEDAY GIRL", "IT DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE", "THEY SET ME FREE", "ITS NOT THAT I DON'T BELIEVE IN LOVE".

AFTER THE MUSIC IS RECORDED, VIDEO SCENES WILL SHOW THE RECORDING STUDIO WHERE THE SONGS ARE ARRANGED AND SUNG AS IT HAPPENED AND THOSE SAME RECORDINGS WILL BE THE ONES THAT ARE DISTRIBUTED. THERE WILL ALSO BE INTERVIEWS AND MUSIC VIDEOS WITH THE MONTEREY BAY BEING THE FOCAL POINT AND BACKGROUND.THESE VIDEOS WILL ALL BE AVAILABLE ON UTUBE AND FACE BOOK.
